Solar on Our Local School

Speed Solar is thrilled to work with a local Deerfield School District to power up a half a mega-watt system on their Middle-High School building! We provided 1400 solar modules for this project. These modules will produce approximately 25% of the facility’s energy needs in 2019 and beyond.  The life expectancy of the system is expected to be at least 25 years.  In addition, a solar monitoring system will bring to life an energy curriculum in the science program. It will help students understand the generation of power, carbon offsets and financial benefits of a solar energy system.

Michelle Jensen, superintendent of the Deerfield Public Schools states, “We are excited to be partners in this new venture and look forward to serving as ambassadors for educating others about the advantages of utilizing solar energy as a means to reducing global warming”.
